Alaska Allergy Issues

Moving to Alaska and have seasonal allergies? You might want to be on the look out as we do have airborne irritants that come around and can make you not enjoy the outdoors the state has to offer! Make sure you are prepared and can take care of symptoms before they start to arrive.

Did you know that Alaska has one of the highest birch pollen counts in the world? It makes it’s appearance around the beginning of May and hangs around for anywhere from four to six weeks, give or take.

Some areas are worse off than others – so watch with your regular summer travels.  You may need to prepare more for some places than others. Fairbanks has a pollen count of sometimes triple what Anchorage has!
